Katherine Heigl recently spoke out about growing up in "a white bubble." She also explains the impact that this realization has had on her parenting of adopted children that are multiracial. The actress from "Firefly Lane" spoke to the media that it was not important what color her skin was to her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted older sister she realized the difference between how others treated her and her. "I inquired of my sister, Meg, if she had been treated one way while going out with us parents and in a different manner in the time she was on her own without anyone else. She replied "Oh I do, each and every moment!" Heigl explained to Parents: "That was when I realized that my naivety had resulted in me feeling." She admitted that she was frustrated and felt that she had to channel this anger to support her daughters. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son and a 13-year-old spouse, Josh Kelley. They adopted Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) with a black complexion, in 2009.
