Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on April 17th, 1972. Her family was however raised within Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner was her father. He was also a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local college. The father of her was an engineer in the chemical industry and she aspired to become like his. Since she wanted to be an actor, she moved to New York. She was a chef at an eatery in New York and was a part of Broadway productions. She had a cameo role in the television series "Felicity." (It it was on this show where she first met her husband, Scott Foley.) Garner was a star with the romantic comedy "13 Goin' on 30" where she played a teenager trapped in the body of a 30-year-old. Garner selected Gary Winick, who directed the movie. She and Winick were able to continue to collaborate in pursuing other projects even after his death. Garner earned the honorary title of the artist ambassador in 2009 by Save the Children U.S.A. The program focuses on education, nutrition, and literacy as well as early childhood education. In 2014, Garner has been a member of the board of trustees for the organization. She has been pushing for early elementary education. As a member of the Early Steps to School Success (EASS) Ambassador team for the EASS program Garner regularly visits families to provide them with strategies to inspire their kids to succeed.
