April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 The seventh grade was when she began playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons which ignited her passion for music writing. April's very first song was titled Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. At the age of 14, April was a huge devotee of time composing lyrics and practising her musical skills. Her writing began alongside her dad on the streets of NY and LA shortly after. April was able to add other relevant topics into the song, such as the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure disabilities and even teenage suicide. Lockhart has a partnership with the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia as well as an influencer in the lifestyle industry with her own large following. It's true that she was born with no left hand and that gives her a unique look. However, that's not the only aspect that makes her unique. So, Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't shy away from her handicap, however it's not focused on it either. The point? The message is that we are more than only our physical selves. Our identities are complex and we contain many different aspects. Lockhart, via a video message from Nashville's home says that I do not think that this should determine me. I'm beyond my physical self. The fact that it's not affecting my normal life. I just do everything normally and I've found ways to manage the things. Since it's a part of who I am I think it's worth discussing. Lockhart, a real inspiration to self-acceptance has been on a long journey to achieve it. Lockhart has admitted that she's been through times when she felt uncomfortable in dressing in certain styles that exposed her arms. She now wears whatever she wants and posts images of her outfits to the internet with a sense of pride. Self-love, according to her, is a process. "I do not think that you will ever be in that place," she said. That's my opinion. everyone with whatever their insecurity is. The people that you associate yourself by who are truly yours and who can look into your heart, are the ones who will remind you why it's important.
